Kill them with kindness, I am told
Worth a try, I think
And so I am kind
And kinder
And kinder still
Yet they live
Goddamn them
Perhaps I need a sharper kindness
Or a blunter, heavier kindness
A kindness clad in armor and wielding a battle axe
A kindness dripping in the blood of their loved ones
Do they have loved ones?
I think them incapable of love
Incapable of sympathy, warmth, compassion
I think them devoid of all the better human qualities
Will they understand kindness when they encounter it?
Will they react properly?
I am committed to killing them with kindness
But it just takes too fucking long
(NOTE: This is a poem I wrote last night. It is dedicated to exactly the people you think it should be dedicated to.)
